Purpose

Drive sell-through by effectively developing and implementing retail visual merchandising projects according to Global best practice and in a consistent, cost-effective and premium way. Work closely Visual Excellence team to ensure consistent execution of retail space projects, creating a Market culture of excitement, and desire to create premium in-store experiences.

Key Accountabilities

  • Develop space and visual merchandising guidelines and provide direction to DTC Visual Excellence team in order to drive consistency in execution across the entire Market
  • Oversee development of monthly and quarterly directives for all supported stores (Flagship, BCS, OCS, FO) supporting Global and NAM key product stories.
  • Ensure project budgets are effectively planned, forecasted and managed
  • Manage collaborative relationships with Global VM team, Retail Merchandising team and DTC Visual Excellence team.
  • Manage a complex matrix of store formats to create optimal VM presentations by store
  • Partner with Global Visual Merchandising, Brand Activation and Visual Excellence teams to deliver premium and innovative in-store experiences in Brand Flagship Store
  • Create VM direction to drive clear consumer journey in-store, highlighting product features, statement pieces and increase sell-through overall and in strategic product lines
  • Provide guidance on VM, Tech Rep, and Store Coaching services to support project implementation
  • In partnership with the DTC Visual Excellence team, measure and report on retail space productivity and make recommendations to management for continuous improvement in managed spaces
  • Establish a high performance culture and drive employee engagement, leading by example.
  • Look for opportunities to provide cross-functional experiences to identified high-potential talents from both, in and outside of the team.

  • Proven understanding of retail needs with a focus on product presentation and merchandising.
  • Excellent project management skills, with proven ability to manage large projects in on time and to budget. Demonstrated ability to successfully negotiate and influence outcomes.

  • Understanding of retail and consumers in the sporting goods industry.

  • Ability to lead, manage, influence and motivate internal and external project teams.
  • Highly developed attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.
  • Hands-on retail floor and Visual Merchandising experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite as well as Microsoft Creative Suite

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.), with an emphasis in Marketing/Merchandising.
  • Minimum 6 years of Merchandising, Visual Merchandising, Product marketing or other related experience in the Sporting Goods or Retail Industry.
  • Minimum 2 years of Management experience.
  • Experience managing external vendors or agencies
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be substituted for degree.
