Senior Patternmaker

Oscar de la Renta seeks a Senior Pattern Maker for its Atelier in New York City.

The Sr. Patternmaker is responsible for creating new patterns based on sketches provided from the design team. The Patternmaker must have experience and expertise in creating runway and VIP RTW garments

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Create new patterns based on information gathered from sketches from design team with accurate target specs

fit and function requirements

Handles draping of fabric/muslin on a form giving consideration to stand fit, all components of the garment, trims and construction

Digitize patterns

Participates in fit sessions

Make pattern adjustments and/or corrections based on fit and design needs

Prioritizing workload based on design and calendar needs

Work closely with design team

Work closely with sample makers (sewers, tailors, cutters) giving proper cut information and construction of garment

Qualifications:

Minimum 15+ years prior experience as a patternmaker

Luxury fashion experience

Highly developed standards of excellence with garment fit and execution

Excellent eye for detail Extensive knowledge of garment construction with ability to interpret designs

Strong communication skills

Ability to collaborate with other departments

Ability to use Lectra patternmaking system

Must be flexible with schedule in order to meet project deadlines and business needs (evenings and weekends as needed)

Must be extremely detail oriented and deadline driven

Act as role model to team members and other pattern makers

High school or equivalency
