As the Sr. Product Director for the Global Kids Apparel you will lead a product team to create the best Kids Product in the world!

Key responsibilities include:
  • Creating, leading and coaching a hard-working, inclusive team.
  • Defining and driving a vision and product strategy.
  • Partnering with design, technical development and merchandising to create the best product possible.
  • Work in a highly matrixed organization and regularly present to large audiences including senior leadership.

This role will be responsible for driving a muti year strategic plan for Kids Apparel. We are looking for someone to direct a team of Product Managers to build and commercialize a seasonal line plan that supports the Kids offense along with delivering against revenue and margin targets. They will be responsible to lead, mentor, and inspire the Product Management team to achieve their personal best and execute at a high level. In partnership with operations, the person in this role will align and plan key product creation gates and dates ensuring that the cross-functional triad delivers against objectives and deadlines. Strong leadership and an in-depth understanding of the product creation process, as well as excellent communication and influencing skills will be essential.

The Sr. Product Director will collaborate very closely with Design to bring the creative vision to life while balancing the needs of the business. The ideal candidate should embody a balance of art and science, possessing equally strong product aesthetic and business acuity. Additional key cross-functional partners include technical development, merchandising, sourcing, demand planning, finance, and brand. You will need to develop a deep understanding of the industry, competition, and global marketplace for the Kids consumer.

The Sr. Director position reports to the VP, Global Kids Product Merchandising, the position has three direct reports (2 PLMs and 1 APLM). Since Nike is a matrixed organization, this Sr Director will also work with x-functional partners that include design, technical development, merchandising, sourcing, demand planning, finance, and brand.


Requirements for the position include :

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Marketing, Retail Merchandising, Business or a combination of relevant education, experience and training
  • 8 years' relevant experience in product-related roles
  • Vision and critical thinking
  • Product line experience and apparel product knowledge
  • Strong business orientation, analytical proficiency, and retail math
  • Strong apparel experience with a high-level understanding of retail buying and/or sales
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including meeting facilitation and presentations
