WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Technical Designer for Bras is a critical role, coordinating the fit and construction of seasonal styles from initial concept through to commercialization, while adhering to timeline, budget, design, sustainability and performance targets aligned to the strategic direction set by the Bras COE leadership team. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience specifically in the field of Bra Product Creation including fit, construction, grading, materials, and costing. They are a proficient project manager and problem solver, able to handle highly complex product launches. They are able to influence and champion complex projects both cross functionally and vertically within the organization.

WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
As our Senior Technical Developer - Bras, you will use your advanced, technical knowledge related to product fit, patterns and construction to provide leadership for large and complex apparel development projects. While working closely with design to understand the creative vision of the line for each project you will translate design concepts into 3D product. This translation will communicate design concepts to generate 2D patterns that incorporate proportional lines, fit requirements and construction feasibility. Through collaborating with the design and project team you will work together to interpret and clarify each design concept, in addition to working with overseas vendors in regards to production and manufacturability.
This role works with design, product merchandising and manufacturing to effectively execute on advanced, technical product development goals and deliverables. Senior Technical Developers drive the fit strategy and fit standards, lead fit sessions and fit garments with the project team while providing fit recommendations and solutions to issues. You will provide direction to the wider global apparel team as well as technical recommendations to design staff in order to create consistency of fit and construction, and to help achieve design concepts and category initiatives.
The Senior Technical Developer represents the design team as needed in follow-up and decision-making related to aesthetics of assigned styles after each season's prototype review. In addition, you will create and communicate pattern revisions, incorporating styling and fit changes.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
You will collaborate closely with the Product, Design, Material, Sourcing and PCC teams, developing seasonal product to commercialization. You will partner with TDs on the Bra Engineering track to translate base chassis and blocks into seasonal and trend relevant styles.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design, Pattern Making, Textile Science or related field, or combination of relevant education, experience, and training.
- 5+ years of experience in pattern making, grading and apparel development experience in bras, foundational garments and/or shapewear.
- Pad development experience required.
- Proven launch experience taking a product through inception to production is needed.
- Advanced knowledge of the apparel development process including, but not limited to, pattern making, construction, grading, costing, manufacturing, materials and machinery.
- Ability to write product specs and advanced construction instructions while also being able to interpret design intent and offer alternative solutions.
- Experience acting as a technical resource and mentor to others while leading initiatives and project teams is strongly preferred.
- Ability to work with vendors to ensure and improve manufacturability.
- Previous experience using Adobe Illustrator and CAD Pattern Design software (Optitex/Browzwear/CLO) is highly desired.
- Experience with an athletic brand highly desired.
- Ability to travel 10-20% including International travel.
