The Senior Footwear and CMF (Color/Material/Finish) Designer for all

license, collaboration, and artist signature series product collections

will report to the Director of Merchandising. The ideal candidate needs to be a highly organized creative problem solver, who is comfortable working in an entrepreneurial and fast-paced environment. Their primary role will be to envision, create, and develop relevant styles across multiple divisions utilizing each brands (licensee / brand / artist) unique approved assets. In collaboration with product merchandising and other cross-category team members, the Senior Designer will be responsible for utilizing existing franchise models as well as concept creation for new patterns and outsoles to be utilized solely for this range of product. In addition, they will need to utilize approved color-pallets, material, and graphics to deliver modern, fashion-driven seasonal product collections. Ability to research and understand evolving style trends to create unique product, while striving to increase learning and deliver positive results will be key for success.

Core Accountabilities
  • Under the direction of the Product Director, design and develop innovative and cost-efficient brand and market relevant footwear which includes concepting, story-telling, and technical development.
  • Partner with Product Line Management and Product Development in the creation of line plans, briefs and final product solutions aligned with business goals, consumer needs (style and function), and brand stories.
  • Deliver on-time product solutions in conjunction with the product calendar and business needs ensuring that all deadlines, line plans, and deliverables are met.
  • Study and research current and future trends, maintain expert knowledge in global design trends, market competition, and retail landscape. Conduct on and off-site to bring new ideas to the brand.
  • Proficient in the creation of tech packs and outsole blueprints, including cross sections.
  • Partner with developers in US and Asia on line schedules, adhere to the product calendar, ensuring development projects are on track.
  • Carefully follow licensor style guides and standards to ensure intellectual property is correctly and properly used
  • Responsible for getting prototypes and samples executed to reflect the techpack
  • Identify product changes and effectively communicate those changes to overseas developers
  • Periodic travel to Asia to for product development and various locations for market research
  • Special projects as assigned.

QualificationsJOB REQUIREMENTS-
  • Ability to sketch shoes accurately and proportionately & provide detailed specifications.
  • Must understand the footwear production process at the factory level.
  • Must have advanced skills in Photoshop/lllustrator
  • Must have great communication/presentation skills and work well collaborating with others.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally
  • Ability to work under deadlines, manage multiple priorities, take initiative and pay close attention to detail
Education And Experience-
  • Preferably a bachelor's degree in Footwear, Fashion or Graphic Design
  • Should have a minimum of 4-6 years of shoe designing experience and knowledge of shoe constructions and materials and overall design process
  • Experience working with foreign manufacturing and supply partners is a plus
