The Designer is responsible for developing and managing the sweater assortment for Junior Inventory & private label accounts. This role should continuously deliver and uphold the account aesthetic, while also evolving with our client’s needs and industry trends.

Coordinate information for production via interaction with internal and external cross functional partners and across all International channels.

Fast-paced Junior Apparel Company is actively seeking a SWEATER TECHNICAL DESIGNER to join our team under the Design department.

We are looking for an energetic & organized sweater technical designer for immediate hire.


Creating initial technical packages based on samples and photos; including taking mannequin pictures of the original sample & proto sample for T/Ps

Knowledge & understanding of the nature of spec, yarns, gauge, stitch, and the weight of the sweater category.

Experience fitting Junior sizes ranges, Missy experience plus

Maintain and update a proto and on-order library of bodies and technical packages

Participate in fit session, work with designer & production to achieve aesthetic, communicate fit & balance corrections to participants

Attend and participate during sales meetings when discussing fits of proto samples

Creating grading rules for production items & create proto-tech packs as needed

Help update costing tech packs and recaps with correct detailed information, including gauges, stitch, and weights

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced fashion environment

Work closely with the Technical, Art & Production team

Ability to manage deadlines and changing priorities, be able to follow the lead, and Team player

Self-motivated, collaborative, proactive, organized, detailed & Strong team player

Computer proficient – Microsoft Office (Works, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook


1 year of experience required

A Bachelor's degree in any of the following majors is a plus: textile/Pattern
