BUSINESS IMPACT STATEMENT Supports the Graphics and Packaging programs through development, purchasing, producing, logistics and execution creating a consistent and inspiring brand experience. Oversees developing the related print budgets, contract negotiation, R&D and specifications. Facilitates and recommends the strategic partnership Kohl’s undertakes in order to execute these programs.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

PLANNING

  • Oversee development of specialty graphics that require research and development, ensuring that concept, strategy, budget, execution and deadlines are met

  • Leads communication with internal teams including overseeing and prioritizing jobs, follow up with cross functional partners managing timing, ensuring deadlines are met and supporting stores in ongoing execution

  • Leads communication with external vendors including new development,  assigning jobs, overseeing and prioritizing, following up with vendors regarding project specifications, deadlines, shipping requirements

  • Oversees systems and processes.

  • Thorough understanding of all graphics and packaging programs in order to successfully research needs for new suppliers and capabilities, R&D and systems.

NEGOTIATION AND BUDGET

  • Negotiates multi-year, single year and short term contracts and rates

  • Main POC of budget for finance, GP and ISM

  • Communicates budget opportunities to  ISM and SED Leaders

  • Researches and builds accurate yearly, monthly and & quarterly budgets to support new initiatives and maintained graphic programs

  • Maintains accurate financial reporting for all spend

PRODUCTION AND PROCESSES

  • Manages workload of assignments including development, RFQ's/bids/production, vendor evaluation; awards jobs, writes purchase orders, logistics and approves invoices.

  • Manage the procurement, purchasing, contract negotiation, strategies, communication and execution details of all printed materials for the graphics program.

  • Oversee the communication and management of schedules, pricing, database, specification, information, project plans and budgets related to these programs.

  • Oversee graphic fulfillment program.

  • Manages vendor relations for onboarding, vendor meetings, training, reviews and compliance.

  • Challenge and communicate with internal and external partners on new formats or specifications to achieve strategic marketing objectives.

  • Identify, research, recommend and implement ways to increase efficiency, improve production procedures, and streamline duties to reflect cost and time savings.

  • Meets regularly cross functional partners to improve process and workflow

LEADERSHIP AND COACHING

  • Partners with the manager to empower the team to deliver on company and departmental goals.

  • Attends and participates in Sr Leadership meetings and store walks.

  • Leads by example while assisting the manager on coaching and counseling of the team.

  • Supports and represents the manager as needed.

MANAGEMENT

  • Manages direct reports, systems and projects to achieve strategy goals in accordance with Company policies and practices

  • Provides leadership by exhibiting influence and expertise, thus affecting the results of the operating area

  • Creates an effective work environment by developing a common vision, setting clear objectives, expecting teamwork, recognizing outstanding performance and maintaining open communications

  • Develops staff through coaching, providing performance feedback, providing effective performance assessments and establishing performance and development plans

SUPERVISES ASSOCIATES

  • Evaluates and prioritizes team workload and make adjustments as needed to ensure deadlines are met.

  • Develops staff’s functional skills by managing day-to-day work assignments and by providing coaching, performance feedback, and effective performance assessments.

  • Interviews, trains, and supervises direct reports and workflow activity.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

  • 4+ years of production or operations experience

  • Experience negotiating and managing an annual budget

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Proven ability to problem solve

  • Outstanding and proven project management skill set

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and programs at varying stages of development

  • Strong organizational skills and technical savvy

  • Extensive knowledge of production processes

  • Advanced negotiation and purchasing skill

  • Strong ability to conceptualize, communicate and present creative ideas

  • Experienced with RFI/RFP, estimating, purchase order and invoicing procedures

PREFERRED

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Knowledge of the basic tenants of In-Design, Photoshop, Illustrator (Macintosh)

  • Experience managing a team

  • Ability to motivate associates at various levels

  • Experience in a production management position

  • Strong analytical skills, ability to analyze ROI

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel to printing facilities as required

  • Ability to lift 50 pounds on an occasional to frequent basis. Greater than 50 pounds = one associate per 50 pounds
