Technical Design and Product Development Specialist - Houston, TX

The role of Technical Design and Product Development Specialist is to support the merchant team in creating compelling products that embodies the brand direction and allows for commercial success. They partner with the merchant teams to build the vision and ensure the product meets the customer needs. The ideal candidate will embody not only technical/creative talent but a full understanding of the business.
What you’ll do:
- Under the guidance of the Chief Merchant work with the merchants and vendors to develop trims, packaging and fit across multiple seasons for both apparel and JAGS to enhance Francesca’s brand creating best in class assortments.
- Manage new packaging requests and sample and cost with vendors.
- Place packaging orders and manage stocks.
- Be the key point of contact for packaging vendors.
- Measure and prepare samples for fittings.
- Take fit notes and photographs during meetings and enter specs and comments into tech packs.
- Maintenance of Vendor technical design onboarding guides.
- Develop and commercialize products that meet product briefs, brand vision and target costs.
- Constant evaluation of francesca's fit and the competition.
- Maintain an effective fit calendar keeping all cross functional partners accountable and reporting out to key stakeholders.
- Work with Merchants to continually improve cost of new and existing products to enhance margin through cost engineering with vendor partners.
- Work with all vendors on technical design and development to achieve first samples that are at an adoptable status.
- Work with cross functional teams to ensure that products are successful – meeting the brand aesthetic and meeting the needs of the customer.
