Responsibilities
- Create and update specification tech packs, including detailed technical sketches, graded measurements and construction details from development through to production.
- Measure garments, take and track notes to ensure final fit, quality and construction meets standards.
- Participate in fit sessions by fitting samples on live model, recording comments and communicating with team and partners.
- Input grade rules, cross-check pattern, pattern card, graded specs and BOM before releasing PP to factory.
- Maintain organized storage folders and filing system for data history (samples, tech packs, and patterns).
- Have market awareness to help inform decisions or provide suggestions for new ideas.
- Work closely with designers, production to ensure that an accurate garment is developed that meets Design's aesthetic.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the brand aesthetic and fit expectations.
- Bring urgent issues to supervisor's attention for input and direction.
- Issue final production grading.
- Lead communication with overseas vendors regarding construction and fit.
- Identify opportunities for cost engineering improvement and raw material optimization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in related field
- 5 years experience in technical design and some design experience preferred
- Knowledge of garment construction, pattern making, silhouettes, colorways, sewing techniques, fabrication and trim; familiarity with print design and manufacturing
- Extreme attention to detail and accuracy, as well as ability to prioritize and make quick decisions
- Superior organizational skills and excellent communication skills
- Demonstrate initiative, time management skills and flexibility in a change oriented culture
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills with ability to work across cultures and collaboratively
- Thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Knowledge in Excel, Illustrator, and Photoshop
