An American worldwide clothing and accessories retailer is searching for Sr Tech Designer.

Location: on-site, San Francisco, CA

Duration: 3 months, can extend

Hours per week: 40

Job Description:

Individual contributor position responsible for executing the technical design process from development to final fit. Responsible for analyzing and evaluating garments to develop the correct fit specifications. Ensures that products are developed in a manner consistent with established fit quality, standards, manufacturer capabilities and cost specifications. Develops technical specifications and communicates fit to vendors/factories for approvals and corrections. Makes appropriate adjustments with factories as required to ensure integrity of design approved prototypes while monitoring quality and targeted price. Typically reports to Technical Services Manager. May oversee Assistant Technical Designers. Bachelor's degree in Fashion, or equivalent experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Expert in sewing and techniques w/sewing, draping and patternmaking with Apparel

• Understanding of pattern making and cutting, good knowledge of fabrics and technical components

• Able to work and think independently as well as part of a team to solve any problems

• An understanding of complex garment construction, print and embellishment

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Leading garment or pattern creation from initial sketch design to completed sample/pattern to present to tech design and design team

• Ensuring clear instructions are communicated to manager in a timely manner, considering design aesthetic, sewing capability and fabric end use

• Ensure quality standards are adhered to

• Awareness and management of meeting deadlines

• Sew garments across multiple product lines according to technical instructions and patterns

• Recommend construction options to improve the garment appearance or labor efficiency

• Evaluate garment construction for mass production efficiency

• Share construction techniques with coordinators, pattern makers, and fellow Sewers

• Other duties and tasks may arise as needed by the Teams
