Essential duties and responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to:

  • Create initial CAD sketches for garment designs, ensuring accuracy and alignment with design concepts, for approval before pattern making.
  • Edit CAD sketches as needed based on feedback from design, product development, and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain an organized flats library, cataloging CAD sketches for easy reference and retrieval.
  • Create and maintain an organized library of digital trims, including buttons, zippers, and other embellishments, for use in garment design and development processes.
  • Develop detailed garment specifications, including material requirements, construction details, and finishing techniques, to guide production processes.
  • Collaborate closely with design, product development, and quality assurance teams to ensure that garment specifications meet aesthetic, functional, and quality standards.
  • Create and maintain tech packs using company-issued template files, incorporating detailed garment specifications, material requirements, and construction details.
  • Develop and maintain Points of Measure (POM) charts to accurately capture garment measurements and specifications for various sizes and styles.
  • Creating construction call-outs for each garment, based on reference samples
  • Create and update detailed technical packages (tech packs) for garments, ensuring accuracy and adherence to brand standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, production, and quality assurance, to develop comprehensive specifications for garments.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to convey garment specifications and resolve any production-related issues.
  • Maintain organized records and documentation of all technical specifications, revisions, and updates.

Qualifications and skills shall include, but not be limited to:

  • Proficiency in Garment Measurement: Candidates must possess the ability to accurately measure garments using industry-standard techniques and tools. This includes familiarity with measuring tapes, rulers, and other relevant instruments.
  • Proficiency in Understanding Garment Construction: Candidates should have an understanding of garment construction techniques, including patternmaking, sewing, and assembly processes. This knowledge allows for more accurate measurements and ensures compatibility with the intended design and fit of the garment.
  • Proficiency with Industry Software Used for CAD and Tech Packs: Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software and other industry-specific tools for creating technical drawings and tech packs is advantageous. Candidates should be comfortable using such software to assist in the garment design and production process. (e.g, Adobe Illustrator)
  • Proficiency with Email and Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Work Suite: Candidates should be adept at using email for professional correspondence and demonstrate familiarity with Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Work Suite (e.g., Gmail, Google Docs, Google Sheets) for documentation, data management, and collaboration purposes.
  • Attention to Detail: The role requires meticulous attention to detail to ensure precise measurements and maintain quality standards throughout the production process.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Candidates should demonstrate problem-solving skills to identify and address measurement challenges, such as irregular shapes or non-standard garments.
  • Time Management and Prioritization: Strong time management skills are essential for effectively managing workload and meeting deadlines. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently, ensuring that garment measurements are completed in a timely manner without compromising accuracy or quality.
  • Excellent Writing and Communication Skills: Clear and effective communication is vital for collaborating with team members, designers, and suppliers. Candidates should possess strong written and verbal communication skills to convey measurement instructions, report findings, and address any issues that may arise.
  • Adaptability: The ability to adapt to evolving measurement techniques and other matters is crucial for success in this role.

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand at a computer for several hours at a time
  • Ability to work in an office setting in downtown Los Angeles
