The Textile Designer for O’Neill Women’s is responsible for contributing to the original art creation of our seasonal print collections across all women’s categories based on trend and direction. The Textile Designer is responsible for designing prints that are relevant to our brand aesthetic and are high driving in volume.
Essential Job Functions
•The Textile Designer will work directly with and report to the Senior Textile Designer assisting with O’Neill Women’s prints and color
•Create original artwork for prints based on seasonal direction
•Build color palettes and color cards with the direction of the Senior Textile Designer & Creative Director
•Strong understanding of color separation and print development process to achieve desired results
•Knowledge of the marketplace, competitor’s product and the needs of O’Neill’s customer
•Manage organization of pantone books and print library
•Support on reviewing strike offs and lap dips
•Print and color trend research
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
•Creative with strong fine art skills. Ability to paint, draw and use different mediums to create original artwork that reflect the brands aesthetic and put into repeat
•Experience recreating vintage
•Highly motivated, go-getter and self-starter that can multi-task and problem solve
•Ability to be very creative while working fast paced and deliver deadlines
•Highly organized and detail oriented
•Very knowledgeable in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator specifically for textile design repeats
•Advanced – Adobe Photoshop
•Advanced – Adobe Illustrator
•Excellent eye for print, color and trend
•Ability to give and receive constructive criticism and critique
•Understands color theory and be able to match colors accurately
Required Education and Experience
•At least 3-5 years’ experience in print/textile design
Seeing: Must be able to see well enough to read reports.
Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with customers, vendors and employees.
Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: Must be able to stoop or kneel to pick up products.
Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to type and use technical sources.
