Unique Vintage (Women's Apparel Company) is looking for a talented Textile Designer to join our creative team!

We have an exciting opportunity for a super creative, mid-level Textile Designer that will work with Design Team to create custom artwork for apparel and accessories. This person should be experienced in creating textile prints, graphics, placement prints, and embellishment artwork using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. The Textile Designer will also be responsible for creating all licensed apparel and accessories artwork using both original ideas and licensor assets. Strong knowledge of printing capabilities/limitations on various fabric qualities, and a good understanding of different graphic printing techniques is key.

If you are a highly-motivated individual who can jump right in and self-manage, this would be a great fit!A positive and flexible attitude is key.The Textile Designer must work well with cross-functional partners. Will report to the Senior Designer. There is a lot of room for growth! Local candidates only, please! All UV employees must be fully vaccinated.

The Textile Designer will be responsible for (but not limited to):

-Design custom artwork based on consumer trends, licensor requirements, and feedback from Creative Director

-Create textile prints and repeats, generate Artwork Pages for production and own artwork through entire design process.

-Review all print strike offs and comment on changes/approvals/rejections in a clear manner and with a sense of urgency.

-CAD bodies in corresponding custom or licensed artwork

-Maintain BOMs, internal development tracker and category line sheets by month

-Communicate daily via email with Production and factories regarding artwork

-Support the tracking of all custom fabrics and trims

-Trend and industry research

-Upload and update licensor portals

-Thoroughly read licensor product guides to ensure a clear understanding of guidelines and/or limitations

-Organize and maintain strike off and print library

Required Skills

-A college degree in Apparel Design or related disciplines is required; Textile or Graphic Design Degrees are highly preferred

-4-6 years of design experience is a must

-Solid understanding of the design process and product life cycle is a MUST

-Expert level proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

-Proficient in creating AOP, embroidery artwork, graphics.

-Excellent time management skills

-MUST be able to self-manage

-Ability to create new artwork based on project theme, consumer trends, and inspiration

-An eye for color and design

-Must approach all assigned tasks with a sense of urgency

-Knowledge of wash and dye process

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as email etiquette

-Attention to detail and meticulously organized

-Ability to maintain an organized work schedule, follow up, and meet deadlines

-Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and with the ability to maintain ownership of artwork from concept to final execution

-Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment

-Positive attitude, and willingness to learn

-Anticipating needs and good at troubleshooting

-Excellent follow through with assigned task

-Experience with working with overseas factories and vendors

-Prior experience designing licensed apparel and accessories a plus!!

-Must have reliable transportation
