Textile Designer for Hotel Linens (Tech Packs)

We require a talented Textile Designer to produce tech packs for Bed, Bathroom, Bedding and Table Linens. Your designs will adorn luxury hotels across the world and your work will help create lasting memories for hotel guests.

You must have experience in hospitality linens, please do not propose an offer unless you can demonstrate that you have actual experience and can provide references.

Degree in Textiles or similar

Design and develop fabric ranges across all products in the business from concept to finished cloth / product.

Approval of yarns, fabric handlooms and colour standards.

Creative, enthusiastic, highly skilled textile designer with extensive knowledge of woven bases and weave structures.

Must understand the need to balance weave and design with comfort and durability for commercial laundry.

Commercial acumen, Knowledge of costs and ability to develop product to fit price points

Technical knowledge of CAD, weave, and embroidery.

Highly proficient across all Microsoft Office applications.

Yarn; You will be required to specify yarns and fillings* for all products; 100% Cotton, 100% Linen, Linen/Cotton Mix, Poly/Cotton Mix. Cottons must be sustainable and compliant to BCI, Fairtrade etc.

Weaving; You should have experience of designing for Rapier and Air Jet looms with Dobby / Jacquard. Bed Linen; designs in Percale, Sateen, Satin Stripe - Dobby / Jacquard. (200TC -400TC) Bedding specifications; Duvets Shell and filling, Mattress Toppers, Pillows, Mattress Protectors, Pillow Protector, Waterproof Mattress Protector, Waterproof Pillow Protector. Bath; 400-600GSM face, hand, towel, sheet, pool towel, bathrobes, spa towels, header design.

Table; Napkins, table cloths, in Satin Band, Plain, Jacquard designs.

Finishing; Specify fabric finishing and treatments such as Burning and Desizing, Bleaching, Mercerizing process, Drying, Sanforising, antimicrobial, Non-allergenic/Hypo-allergeni.

Sewing; Sewing instructions for all products.

The ideal designer will be familiar with Marriott, IHG, Hilton, Shangri-La, Hyatt etc standards. Should you not meet all the product requirements but are a "Guru" in a specific area that we require we would like to hear from you.
