Summary
In a fast-paced environment the Visual Merchandiser will partner with super department – Merchants, Inventory Management (IM), Marketing, Store Operations, Supplies and Fixtures and Finance and serve as liaison between cross functional team – Merchants, Inventory Management, Marketing, Store Operations, Supplies and Fixtures and Finance. Manage secondary space planning process from end to end.
Responsibility
- Manage secondary space programs within the super department including meeting deadlines in partnership with merchants and IM on: Item collection (seasonally relevant, core business drivers, national brands), Determine quantities to support display and communicate with the IM team to ensure merchandise is available for set date.
- Maintain current lists to measure performance.
- Use analytics to identify opportunities and recommend adjustments as needed.
- Secondary Space Programs include but are not limited to: Endcaps, Extreme Value Center, Queue Line, Impulse and Add Ons.
- Maintain 52 Week Calendar and Presentation Plans for Super Department – including seasonal and micro celebration planning.
- Project lead for resets, category flow changes, and plan-o-gram initiatives from end to end.
- Partner with merchants to identify and build out white space categories.
- Create test and learn environments to pilot programs and displays in partnership with the Special Projects team.
- Prepare clear and concise merchandising instructions that are easy to execute.
- Actively participate in merchant quarterly business reviews and hindsight meetings.
- Stay on trend and identify sales opportunities on extreme values, core business drivers and seasonal related items.
- Work smarter! Collaborate on Labor Optimization and Shrink/Scrap Reduction programs in addition to partnering with the stores and merchant team on how the items are best displayed by category and creating efficiencies at store level.
- Collaborate with Talent Development department to create and maintain in-store training.
- Prepare written and verbal presentations as needed.
- Support special projects as needed including Grand Openings, Remodels, fixture tests/roll outs, sign review, etc.
- Collaborative extensively with cross-functional partners to develop merchandising plans
Qualification and Requirements
Minimum Required Experience/ Skills/Knowledge:
- 3-5 years of Visual Merchandising experience preferred.
- Microsoft, PowerPoint, Excel (basic excel: vlookup)
- Retail experience required.
- Ability to organize and manage multiple projects and to meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong interpersonal skills
$65,000 - $80,000 Depending on Experience
