The Visual Merchandising & Styling (VMS) function is responsible for developing and implementing inspiring, premium, and elevated consumer experiences and presentations for the Nike brand across the North American geography. The VMS team works collaboratively across brand and business partners to develop product journeys, presentation strategies, styling direction as well as playbooks & training modules that create a distinct point of view for the brand at retail. Additionally, the VMS Team works directly with the business, operations, and design functions to develop, drive and scale new concepts / retail expansion for the Nike brand across the marketplace. The VMS team’s success is amplified by a connected network of world-class talent across Nike headquarter (WHQ), territories, key cities & in-store.


We are looking for a curious, driven, and passionate visual merchandiser who is a creative problem solver who loves retail, and collaboration, and understands the role visual merchandising plays in developing and carrying out the consumer experience at retail. This candidate needs to be able to think strategically, anticipate potential obstacles and be a solution-oriented problem solver. We are looking for someone with visual merchandising experience in-store as well as some corporate experience, with strong verbal & written communication skills. This person will work with multiple functions within the organization which will require them to be a collaborative thought partner who possesses the ability to help move work forward.


This role plays an important part in supporting the Nike Live retail concept development and will build seasonal VMS presentation tools and direction that sets the expected brand standards and enables flawless execution specific to that concept. A typical week consists of regular cross-functional meetings passionate about the new door opening readiness, seasonal VMS planning, and in-season support based on the needs of Nike Live concepts. In this role, you will work with Territory & City VMS partners to understand the needs of the concept doors and to refine tools and direction as needed to make continual improvements. Additionally, you will work closely with the Live teams to provide support as needed related to door opening plans.

  • Develop clear and concise VMS communication, tools & direction that allow field and store teams to implement flawlessly. Gather feedback from the field to continually refine and improve tools and direction.
  • Support Nike Live concept squad on the planning and mapping of upcoming new doors.
  • Respond to in-season business needs to provide guidance and communication to field and store teams.
  • Develop and champion strong and collaborative working relationships with Global & Geo CDM functions, Merchandising, Design, OPS as well as the field organization.
  • Support VMS Director on special projects related to Nike Live concepts or seasonal readiness.


This role works with a diverse set of teams and individuals across multiple brand and business functions across Nike Headquarters and field organizations. This role reports directly to the Director Visual Merchandising - NSO but is expected to build and sustain strong and collaborative working relationships with Global & Geo Marketing, Merchandising, Planning, OPS, and VMS teams & disciplines in order to meet brand and business objectives. You will also work closely with Geo, Territory & City VMS functions to build a strong flow of communication and open dialogue to understand team needs and relevant marketplace and competitive trends.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Visual Merchandising, Design or related field or experience in Visual Merchandising or combination of relevant education, experience, and training
  • 4+ years of experience in retail marketing, visual merchandising, product merchandising, or directly related experience.
  • Possess a clear passion for the art and science of visual merchandising & styling.
  • Passion for teamwork, collaboration, and problem-solving!
  • Visual background with previous experience in a vertical retail environment.
  • Demonstrated experience crafting engaging and inspiring in-store displays. Footwear & apparel experience is preferred!
  • Ability to build outstanding presentation solutions that inspire the consumer, drive sales and align with the Nike brand voice.
  • Knowledge of the current retail landscape and the latest trends and innovations for retail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Confident presentation and digital literacy with command of Outlook calendar, Excel, PowerPoint, and Keynote, Mac proficiency strongly preferred.
  • Ability to travel approximately 4-6 times per year.
