Job description

The Role

The Visual Creative Manager will design and develop all creative for Windows, in-store and customer experience stores for all Country Road and Trenery stores; Retail & Concession across Australia, New Zealand & South Africa

This role will drive the design for all special projects such as Christmas, Mother's Day and Father's Day, as well as producing the creative design for new store concepts.

The Role

The Visual Creative Manager will design and develop all creative for Windows, in-store and customer experience stores for all Country Road and Trenery stores; Retail & Concession across Australia, New Zealand & South Africa

This role will drive the design for all special projects such as Christmas, Mother's Day and Father's Day, as well as producing the creative design for new store concepts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design of windows and in-store creative for all stores across the CR brand and all channels, with a key focus on key events, Grand Final, Mother's Day and Father's Day
  • Flagship store focus to ensure the CR brand experience in top store locations continually enhances the customer journey
  • Lead the design and co-ordination of all instore language requirements and formats to ensure design consistency across the network.
  • Identify Brand texture and imagery requirements, briefing production on design requirements.
  • Design, set and plan all top of shelf creatives, internal pause points, both permanent and seasonal to ensure Country Road is leading edge in design and sustainability whilst still being on brand and to a budget
  • Manage allocation requirements of all creative to ensure meeting budget needs
  • Manage the development of David Jones design opportunities for outposts in key trading periods
  • Understand and interpret each division key statements, lifestyle balance and creative needs across all seasons
  • Design and Plan work to the company critical path in relation to deliveries and in-store set ups, ensuring that all information is circulated prior to support business needs
  • Set up and manage yearly critical path for all design projects ensuring all stakeholders briefed and aware of requirements
  • Ensure promotional signage for windows works back with brand creative and window creative
  • Work closely with Merchandise teams to understand the buy and key directions for the season and coordinate and communicate these needs across all channels prior to delivery
  • Work in conjunction with VM specialists and Co-ordinators to drive key merchandise initiatives to support growing business ensuring relevant information is included in each monthly bulletin
  • Have an awareness of global and market trends and ensure Country Road creative challenges the status quo and is constantly improving and supporting key business initiatives
  • Provide training and development to the 4 direct reports (and 2 indirect) to ensure they are effective in their roles
  • Manage the IPM process ensuring individuals have a clear understanding of strengths and areas for development, to support succession planning process.
  • Communicate clearly and regularly to the VM and retail teams regarding marketing strategies ensuring understanding.

Profile

The Ideal Candidate has

  • Extensive experience in a similar role within the retail industry leading a team
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating closely with stakeholders across multiple functions/ departments.
  • Adaptable within changing and evolving projects or environments with the ability to work autonomously and proactively.

  • Adobe Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Sketch up 3D rendering and Microsoft Office suit skills
  • Strong fashion & interior design knowledge with superior attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage time and deadlines effectively
