Title Anthropologie Designer- Maeve Soft Wovens Reports to Senior Designer, Dresses Supervises Interns Overview The Designer will contribute to the creation, development, and execution of own brand product appropriate for the Anthropologie customer. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Senior Designer & Design Director to identify emerging trends and contribute to inspiration research
  • Design styles, select trims and colors as directed by Senior Designer
  • Collaborate with the Senior Designer to establish trims and create original artworks appropriate for the seasonal concept direction
  • Manage development and execution of trim packages
  • Create to original artworks relative to the seasonal concept
  • Set-up spec sheets and communicate fit and construction details to Technical Design
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of weekly development packages to be sent to the vendors
  • Communicate and follow-up with PD on style development details
  • Partner with PD on the status of styles in development on a daily basis to ensure product execution meets design specifications
  • Review incoming garments with Designer and PD partners to ensure they are correct
  • Assist in sample preparation for Pre-Proto and Finalization presentations
  • Develop, train and manage seasonal interns
  • Attend and participate in weekly fittings and relevant benchmark meetings
  • Perform special tasks as needed
Qualifications
  • Extensive knowledge of woven and knit garment construction
  • Strong creative skills and understanding of Anthropologie brand aesthetic
  • Strong passion for apparel design with the ability to recognize and translate trend direction into brand appropriate product
  • Highly creative, organized and self motivated with the ability to multitask and work independently in a fast paced environment
  • Sound communication skills to effectively collaborate with Design, Buying, PD, Production, and vendors
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Illustrator, knowledge of Web Pdm a plus)
  • Must have 3-4 years experience in apparel design
Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion or Textile Design
