Overview

We’re seeking an experienced and creative print designer who exhibits a natural curiosity and a strong ability to innovate. The candidate should exhibit a history of successfully managing and mentoring entry level designers, showcasing exceptional leadership and skills. The ability to effectively manage deadlines and contribute to the growth of a dynamic team are crucial for excelling in this role.

Responsibilities

Creative

  • Excel in creation of original artwork from drawing to hand painting and digital rendering.
  • Exceptional color sense, skilled in utilizing seasonal color palettes to create modern colorings within print designs.
  • Demonstrate creative ability to autonomously design prints of varying styles, sensibilities, and layouts.
  • Lead print creation in reaction to seasonal concepts balancing needs of category business.
  • Manage seasonal print assortment, creating dynamic & diverse ranges of print variety creating a cohesive collection.
  • Strong connection to emerging print and pattern trends found within art, design, and fashion.

Partners

  • Cultivate an environment where direct reports are challenged, empowered, and motivated to excel in their role.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic and creative print design team.
  • Partner with CAD team to plan for support needed. Clearly communicate desired result and provide feedback as needed.
  • Partner with print development team on desired outcomes, learning mill capabilities, and commenting on results.
  • Leadership with cross functional partners, advocating for team objectives and priorities while being solutions oriented.

Process

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the department’s calendar, including key events, milestones, and deadlines.
  • Manage seasonal print workload to meet all deadlines. Responsible for up to 40 printed styes per season.
  • Ability to create effortless print repeats meeting style and YY needs.
  • Skillfully color separate artworks, reducing colors to meet screen limitations while preserving intended aesthetic.
  • Accurately manage artwork mill packages to team standards, resulting in successful execution of prints in production.
  • Proactively prepare for print representation in samples, panels, printouts, and cads for product reviews.
  • Review strike-offs with a detailed eye, displaying a strong ability to problem solve & advise any action/ solutions needed.

Business

  • Maintain a current knowledge of the Anthropologie Apparel business as it relates to LY and Plan.
  • Contribute to growth in own brand product through supporting ESU, LL, and Chase print needs.
  • Support IMU goals through meeting deadlines, print efficiencies, and clear packages communication with mills.
  • Awareness of successes & opportunities found in weekly business, seasonal hindsight, and quarterly Print Attributes.

Education and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in fine art, Textile Design, Graphic Design, or related experience necessary.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in print or textile industry.
  • Strong creative and technical skills in Adobe programs, keeping up to date with new features.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office and Power Point.
  • Working knowledge of technical platforms NED and Clo.
  • Experience and openness to creative exploration using AI platforms.

Location

  • Philadelphia, PA.
  • In office. Flexible WFH 1-2 days per week as meetings and workflow allow.
  • Some local and New York travel possible.
