Summary: The Assistant Technical Designer will support and assist the Associate Technical Denim Designer in all fittings and administrative requirements. The assistant will ensure that all specification information is properly input into the systems, assist with fittings, manage the Work in Process information, and work on daily communication with vendors.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Ensure all garments are properly measured and ready for fitting (i.e. measuring, print out patterns where applicable).
Participate in fittings: take notes as well as general and detailed photos.
Maintain follow-up chart for all CS, PPS and TOP sample status and approval.
Manage and ensure all system information is properly updated.
Check in and receive all production fit samples.
Prepare garments for production fitting: measure, steam, iron.
Participate in fittings: take notes as well as general and detailed photos.
Proactively track overseas packages and estimate fit dates based on expected package arrival.
Follow-up with factories on anticipated CSs, PPs and TOPs
Measure and review all TOP samples and present to Associate Technical Designer

Position Requirements:

Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design or Patternmaking
1 – 2 years of experience in Technical Designer, or strong internship experience
Understanding of garment engineering, construction, patternmaking and sewing
Strong attention to detail
Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency
Organized, accurate and articulate.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Adobe Illustrator
Knowledge of RLM and Gerber a plus, but not required

In compliance with the New York City salary transparency requirements, the potential salary for this position is from $60,000 to $65,000, which represents a range commensurate with experience, knowledge, and skills required.
