Job Summary:

The Assistant Designer will work with the Creative Designer and internal teams to assist and contribute to the design & development cycle of each season, plus additional brand projects.

Responsibilities:

Talent in Design Research: You will help research design inspiration, artwork concepts, construction ideas, and all other related design needs.

Apparel Sketching Expertise: You will help sketch and edit styles constantly across all categories for every season and any other projects that may arise.

Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator (plus, Procreate): You will generate and edit CADs and other assets for tech packs as well as digital artworks.

Efficiency in PLM: You will generate and manage styles in PLM and communicate to all teams in the US and UK for all matters related.

Market insight: You will help research and develop collections that are relevant to the targeted market and industry climate. You will analyze data received from cross-functional teams to inform design decisions.

Pristine Organizational Skills: You will lead in organizing all design digital assets as well as physical design tools and materials. You will help manage samples during the entire development process.

Excellent communication skills: You will represent Design and communicate with all other departments to ensure clear understanding and alignment throughout all seasonal collections and projects.

Great attitude and work ethic: You will have to remain flexible and steadfast in your efficiency as the design and development process will always come with problems to solve and changes to be made. You must be willing to help wherever possible and finish all tasks with accuracy and speed.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of industry experience and/or a strong internship background
  • Proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator to create/color CADS and artwork
  • Knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, fabrics and working with factories
  • Knowledge of the brand’s history, identity and position in the industry
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to design exciting and fashion forward styles that fit the brand’s repertoire
  • Strong research skills for design and fashion industry/market purposes
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on fostering teamwork
  • Passion for the industry and creating great product
  • Knowledge in PLM a plus
  • Ability to sketch in Procreate a plus
