Assistant Designer

Success Profile:The Assistant Designer will assist in the creation and design a competitive fashion apparel product line that strikes a balance between relevant commercial product and brand right emotional fashion, that will collectively grow the business according to the brand’s strategic and financial objectives for the customer.

Reporting to: VP of Design

Brand/Product Focus: Thalia| Dresses

Location (On-Site): New York City, Midtown Manhattan – Fashion District

Key Responsibilities:

Design Functions:Complete all aspects of design packages - sketching, tech packs, creating and maintaining linesheets. Prepare and maintain tech packs from initial development through bulk. Submit and approve artwork/strike-offs, yarns, lab dips, etc.

Seasonal Development:Organize and maintain design development including artwork, trims, fabric worksheets, initial development, finalized tech pack, line list, etc. Communicate with overseas factories. Manage and adhere to Time and Action Calendar.

Professional Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience

· 1+ years of experience

· BA in Fashion Design

· Experience in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop CS, MS Excel, and MS Office Suite

· Strong communication skills, both written and oral

The pay range for this position is: $50,000 per year (Annualized salary is based on a 40 hour work week)- $60,000 per year (Annualized salary is based on a 40 hour work week).
