As a key member of our design team, the Assistant will work closely with the Design Director, contributing to the growth of our John Deere apparel line across men’s, children’s, baby, and accessories categories that are featured in major retailers. This role offers a unique opportunity to design across all categories including tops, bottoms, and outerwear in both cut and sew knits and wovens. The John Deere brand has a strong trending young mens aesthetic with functional workwear details and technology. The line focuses on John Deere branding in graphics, prints, and trims.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with all aspects of development including concept design, research, sketching, and product development
  • Create and maintain Tech Packages using Unique PLM/Centric
  • Keep Airtable, a tracking software, up to date as styles and fabrics are being developed and bought
  • Develop print patterns and trims
  • Maintain color cards and fabric swatches
  • Track samples and packages through Airtable/Centric
  • Communicate daily with domestic and overseas vendors
  • Work closely with the Production team to ensure accuracy and quality are maintained
  • Create CAD presentation boards
  • Tag and prepare samples for presentations
  • Assist the Design team with any other projects as necessary

Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of Design experience, preferably in menswear, workwear, and/or children/baby
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design preferred
  • Portfolio that displays Design experience and abilities
  • Strong Illustrator and Photoshop experience
  • Strong sense of color and print design
  • Ability to conduct seasonal style and trend research
  • Team player, organized, able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Experience with Unique PLM or Centric is a plus
  • Graphic Design Experience is a plus

Salary range: $50,000 - $55,000 annually
