Mac Duggal is seeking a dynamic, highly organized, and knowledgeable technical design to join

their team. The Assistant Technical Designer will create detailed technical illustrations and

execute design intent while maintaining brand standards. Provide technical expertise in product

fit, construction standards and manufacturing methods. Communicate clearly and professionally

on a technical level with vendors. Interact with product/design teams to adhere to

merchandising calendar to meet production deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Assistant technical designer: Generate and maintain detailed technical packages

including construction details, POMs and fit comments in evening wear, knitwear and

RTW.

- Assists/revises technical specification packages to maintain a standard

measurements and construction requirements of each style

- Assist in production fit sessions on live models and work with designers and factories

to achieve aesthetic and proper fit.

- Assist in evaluating samples for vendor’s execution of fit and construction along with

providing solutions via pattern corrections and/or garment re-engineering.

- Work closely with production and design teams to ensure the design integrity and

production needs are met. 

- Proactively track overseas packages with a sample coordinator and estimate fit

dates based on expected package arrival. 

- Follow-up with factories on anticipated CSs, PPs.

- Approve sample garment (all stages) in timely manner according to Time & Action

Calendar and Production Plan

- Organize the sample racks and prepare for fitting.

- Communicate clearly and efficiently with overseas factories, offices and QC

regarding fit comments and fit status

- Timely respond to all inquiries and requests via e-mail or through verbal

communication

A successful candidate will possess the following:

● B.A. Apparel Design, Technical Design or Apparel Production

● Pattern understanding is required

● Expertise in garment fit, woven specs and garment construction

● Knowledge of garment construction, sewing and fitting.

● Ability to think both creatively and strategically

● Strong attention to details

● Deadline-oriented, inquisitive, and strong follow-up skills

● Ability to proactively trouble shoot, and problem solve.

● Organizational skills and ability to multitask

● Excellent verbal and written communication skills

● Excellent analytical skills

● Strong computer skills (Excel, Google Drive and Adobe Illustrator necessary)

● Ability to work in a face paced, high volume, sku intensive environment

● Ability to navigate ambiguity and make sound decisions; naturally biased toward action

while remaining calm in a high-pressure environment.

● Foster open communication and team environment with all business partners and

receive constructive feedback professionally

**This is an onsite role, must be able to work in person 5 days a week
