As an Associate Designer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the senior design director in various aspects of the design process. You will collaborate closely with the senior design director and other team members to conceptualize, create, and execute brand right designs. Your responsibilities will include managing design documentations, creating computer-aided sketches (CADS), and communication with vendors. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative deadline driven environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Senior Design Director in all aspects of design.
  • Prepare design presentations and documentation for internal and external concept reviews.
  • Manage color library, including initial purchases and organization of color swatches.
  • Organize and maintain design samples and submits.
  • Create black and white computer-aided sketches (CADS) for all new styles and revisions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to design specifications.
  • Initiate and prepare design specifications for hand-off documents.
  • Attend all fittings and follow up on design changes to ensure accurate design execution.
  • Partner with Fabric Specialist and Senior Design Director to review and finalize approvals for new fabric qualities.
  • Work closely with the senior design director to develop new product concepts or refine existing designs based on sales and return insights.
  • Maintain daily communication with all overseas offices to ensure all deadlines are met.
  • Possible travel to both overseas and domestic destinations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Competencies

  • 3+ years of experience as an Assistant Designer.
  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field.
  • Strong computer aided sketching skills and experience
  • Passion for creativity, innovation, and delivering products that resonate with consumers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, balancing multiple projects and priorities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and deliverables effectively.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate design concepts to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • MS Word and Excel, PLM, Adobe Photoshop, and Illustrator experience is required.
  • Possess a curiosity and aptitude toward technological advancements in design creation. (i.e. 3D and AI programs)
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
