Associate Designer (Women's)

The Associate Designer is responsible for supporting the Design Team with the research, design, and updates for all assigned products and/or categories.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Collaborate with Designers on product creation

· Develop special make-up unit (SMU) designs for cross functional teams

· Setup and organize tech packs & mill sheets (in Adobe Illustrator) for various designers

· Update tech packs, CADs, Line Sheets, & mill sheets as reviews take place, and designs revised

· Research, interpret, and apply market trends (competitors and non-competitors) appropriate to the brand

· Additional responsibilities, outside of seasonal collections, as assigned

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

· Proficient in Microsoft Applications; focus on Illustrator

· Highly developed sense of creativity for color, prints and pattern

· Hand drawing, sketching and / or painting skills a plus

· Ability to manage multiple deadlines and calendars

· Ability to learn, and flexibility to work on any project big or small

· Ability to interact and collaborate with other designers

· Ability to work cross functionally

· Strong organization and attention to detail skillset

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

· Technical trade school and / or equivalent experience

· Minimum 1 year of experience in apparel design a plus, but not necessary
