Sharing its name with the French term for the liminal moment linking late afternoon and early evening, Cinq à Sept brings the intriguing tension between day and night to a new advanced contemporary collection. Inspired by the hours between 5 and 7 p.m., when city streets are awash in the warm glow of the vanishing sun and office desks are abandoned for cocktails and as-yet unknown possibilities, Cinq à Sept embodies a deliberate balance between sophistication and ease, youthful daring and confident allure. The collection’s modern feminine aesthetic embraces unexpected details and striking silhouettes, resulting in clothing that draw their romance and sexiness from the woman wearing them.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail oriented Embellishment Designer to join our design team. This person will be responsible for conceptualizing and executing decorative elements such as embroidery, beadwork, sequins and appliqués into our garments. This person will collaborate closely with design teams and vendors to bring these aesthetic ideas to life and ensure that the final products align with the Cinq à Sept vision.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Researching different techniques, materials, + cost effective options for each season based off design direction
Working with each designer to develop artwork for mockups
Keeping track of launch dates + ex factory dates to come in prior to proto reviews, maintaining tight communication with factories
Holding internal meetings to review initial embellishment mockups prior to proto reviews
Complete embellishment layouts + tech packs with direction from designers
Reviewing + approving layouts with Jane
Work with tech to confirm embellishment + patch application details
Maintaining embellishment cheat sheets for each style to clearly communicate layout, materials, application, vendor, etc for production
Reviewing + approving embellishment submits for bulk / production
Reviewing, revising, or approving layouts post production fit

YOUR PROFILE:

Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, or a related field
3-5 years experience embellishment design within the fashion or textile industry
Proficient design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop or CAD programs
Strong understanding of embellishment techniques and textile and garment construction
Excellent attention to detail and aesthetic sensibility
Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams
Time management and organizational skills to prioritize tasks and thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Passion for creativity, innovation and industry trends and developments
