Fashion Designer for Kidswear Brand - Contract to Hire

Job Overview:

The Fashion Designer will be at the forefront of designing innovative and child-friendly apparel for our kidswear brand. This role involves conceptualizing designs, fabric selection, overseeing production, and ensuring that the final products meet our quality standards and appeal to our target audience. Proficiency in CAD software is essential for creating detailed designs and patterns.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop kidswear collections, including sketching initial concepts, creating detailed designs using CAD software, prototyping, and selecting fabrics.

Keep up-to-date with the latest trends in kidswear and integrate them into designs that resonate with our brand and appeal to our customers.

Use CAD software to create detailed patterns and technical specifications for each design, ensuring accurate execution during the production process.

Collaborate with the merchandising team to ensure designs are in line with market trends and customer preferences.

Oversee the production process, working closely with suppliers to select high-quality, sustainable fabrics and materials that are suitable for children.

Coordinate with the marketing team on the development of branding and promotional materials for collections, providing CAD renderings when necessary.

Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field, with a strong portfolio that includes kidswear designs.

Demonstrated experience in fashion design, with specific expertise in kidswear.

Advanced skills in CAD software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD for Fashion Design) for creating designs and patterns.

Deep understanding of fabric types, color theory, and the latest fashion trends, particularly in the kidswear market.

Exceptional drawing and design skills, along with creative thinking to conceptualize innovative designs.

Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality, child-friendly designs.
