Our client, a fashion brand, is seeking a Technical Designer to join the team temporarily in their New York office! This is a full-time hour freelance role with an on-going duration.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Design and Production teams to ensure proper and professional communication to all factories
Prioritize daily and seasonal workload based on fabric/garment delivery.
Meet weekly and seasonal deadlines
Attend initial Design handoffs for new product & complete proto specs
Measure & prep garments for proto fitting
Write proto fit comments and update Product in preparation for SMS launch
Arrange sessions with fit models as needed
Update Product Tech Packs
Interface with overseas factories to convey fit and construction corrections
Spec & prep garments prior to fitting
Take on additional projects as needed

Requirements

3+ years Technical Design Experience in a SKU intensive environment
Experience in soft dressing technical design and pattern making
Strong knowledge of pattern making, grading, garment construction, sewing, technical drawing, measuring and fitting
Experience communicating fit corrections to factories overseas and domestic
Computer literate and tech savvy, proficient in Photoshop & Illustrator, MS Office & G-Suite
Proficiency in RLM/ PLM system preferred
Strong sense of urgency, can balance competing priorities with expert time management skill
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
