Who We Are Looking For

We are currently seeking a full-time, on-site role in South Hackensack, NJ for a Merchandising Manager. As a Merchandising Manager in the teamwear and sports apparel industry, your role revolves around managing the merchandising process for team wear and sports apparel products, ensuring they meet consumer demand and align with the company's overall strategy. Your role involves a combination of strategic planning, product development, and collaboration with various teams within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Product Selection and Development: Choosing which team wear products to offer based on market trends, customer preferences, and brand strategy. This involves collaborating with designers, product developers, and manufacturers to create new designs and improve existing ones.
  • Inventory Management: Ensuring that the right quantity of products is available at the right time and in the right locations. This involves forecasting demand, monitoring inventory levels, and coordinating with production and logistics teams to meet demand.
  • Pricing Strategy: Setting competitive prices for team wear products while considering factors such as production costs, competitor pricing, and perceived value to customers.
  • Visual Merchandising: Designing attractive displays and layouts for team wear products in retail stores, online stores, and other sales channels. This includes arranging products to maximize visibility and appeal to customers.
  • Promotions and Marketing: Developing strategies to promote team wear products through various channels, such as advertising, social media, and sponsorship deals with sports teams or athletes.
  • Sales Analysis and Reporting: Analyzing sales data to track the performance of team wear products and identify areas for improvement. This involves generating reports and presenting findings to senior management to inform decision-making.
  • Customer Engagement: Engaging with customers to gather feedback on team wear products and identify opportunities for new product development or improvements.
  • Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams: Working closely with other departments such as marketing, sales, design, and production to ensure alignment and coordination in achieving overall business goals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Merchandising, or related field.
  • 5 to 7 years’ experience in this field and industry
  • Experience using (ERP)like SAP, (PLM) like Gerber and CRM Software like Sales Force
  • Analytical Skills and Experience in Market Research
  • Marketing, Sales and Merchandising experience
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing staff
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and collaborative environment

To excel in this role, you'll need strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of consumer behavior and market trends, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Additionally, staying abreast of developments in the sports apparel industry and being adaptable to changes in consumer preferences and market dynamics will be essential for success.

The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
