About The Role

Nili Lotan is seeking a Product Development / Design Assistant to support the overall PD department with alldevelopment and design-related needs. This position will work closely with the PD Director, PD Associate, and Design team(s) to ensure cross-functional alignment and the execution of day-to-day tasks. The PD / Design Assistant will have a special focus on PFD development. They will also support with the tracking and database maintenance of departmental samples, vintage garments, and archive samples.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain seasonal development dye charts, POs, and standard binders each season for PFD programs.
  • Assist PD Director with managing seasonal garment dye processes with domestic dye houses including launching lab dips, sending POS, keeping accurate record of dye and wash processes and any callouts along the way.
  • Support new product development across channels through follow up with Manager:
  • Pull fabric, trims, etc. for launching samples in midtown.
  • Pull trims for in house atelier as needed.
  • Fusible testing with Tech/PD Associate.
  • Work with interns to keep the atelier clean and organized – including patterns.
  • Maintain inventory of PFD garments in house and work with Manager on pulling and sending garments and lab dips as needed throughout the season.
  • Coordinate development packages and enter all shipment tracking numbers into a log and monitor daily to
  • track overseas samples.
  • Monthly expense reports for Development– processing through Concur and submit to accounting.
  • Organize vintage each season and update vintage archive accordingly:
  • Keep binders up to date and log expenses.
  • Track vintage sample arrivals.
  • Pull vintage from archive as needed and directed by Manager/Design.
  • Responsible for seasonal linesheet updates ; ensuring all style, fabric and color information is accurate
  • Set up design boards or digital decks as guided by design each season
  • Attend fittings; update sketches post fittings
  • Responsible for all WRTW woven sketches and accessories sketches as required
  • Work with PD Director and interns to ensure every sample has buttonholes, buttons, and woven labels pre-
  • market.
  • Assist with launching samples in midtown factories.

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in fashion or related field.
  • PFD experience a plus, but not required.
  • Knowledge of RLM Apparel Software preferred.
  • Proficient Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Procreate skills
  • Proficient computer skills including but not limited to: Adobe Reader; Office 365; and Google Suite.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced working environment.
