We are seeking a skilled Sample Maker to join our team, where meticulous attention to detail and superior craftsmanship are paramount in the creation of exceptional garments. In this role, you will utilize your expertise in garment construction to produce high-quality prototypes and collaborate effectively with a dynamic team of designers and patternmakers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate industrial sewing machines, including lockstitch, cover-stitch, and overlock.
  • Analyze tech packs and patterns to determine optimal construction methods.
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge in garment construction and uphold professional workmanship through advanced sewing techniques.
  • Maintain high attention to detail and craftsmanship, ensuring clean stitching, consistent margins, and SPI on all constructions.
  • Collaborate with designers and pattern makers to address issues with the tech pack, pattern, and/or materials.
  • Perform alterations on samples, ranging from simple to complex fit modifications.
  • Troubleshoot basic machinery issues and notify the manager when repairs are necessary.
  • Keep a well-organized and compliant workstation.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience with a wide range of fabrics and garment types, such as leather, evening wear, and tailored pieces for men and women.
  • Experience with luxury brands, demonstrating an eye for detail and quality craftsmanship.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Flexibility in schedule to occasionally work evening and weekend hours, as business needs dictate.
  • Comfort with using various garment construction tools and machinery, including but not limited to fabric scissors, hand needles, and industrial irons.
  • Cutting complete garments is preferred but not required.
