Senior Merchandiser, Women’s
THE PURPOSE: Execute, plan and manage the product assortment and business strategy for the Women’s department in alignment with the company’s goals.
THE ROLE (what you are accountable for)
• Drive seasonal go-to-market process from line plan creation to sales.
• Build the right brand/product assortment that will drive and exceed sales and gross margin goals.
• Implement new product strategies and key items to drive women’s sales.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure all product strategies are carried out, and executed against, and key financial targets are being achieved.
• Understand the market drivers and brand positioning to successfully react to the business.
• Be on top of trends and opportunities to chase into the various needs of the business.
• Create assortment plans that clearly outline product, cost, and retail needs to support the global women’s business and achieve the quarterly sales budget.
• Articulate results and strategy at weekly business meetings, seasonal milestones, and investment meetings.
• Work closely with planning to manage inventory in accordance with OTB.
• Lead a develop a team of merchants with the end goal of owning the product categories and managing from start to finish.
• Ensure all product meets or exceeds our cost targets to exceed our gross margin goals.
• Manage monthly markdowns to ensure inventory levels are hitting our targets and product sell-throughs are achieved.
• Create, manage, and execute key item programs to drive top-line sales across categories.
• Chase products domestically and overseas every month to ensure trends are covered and key product classes are represented.
• Oversee receipt reconciliation and all deliveries.
• Work closely with the marketing and e-commerce teams to ensure all product collections are launched properly and have adequate support around them to achieve the sales goals.

REQUIRED MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
• 6+ years of experience in a merchandising role
• Retail math knowledge
• Advanced Excel knowledge
• Strong organizational / project management/time management skills along with excellent oral and written communication ability
• 2+ years managing a small team
