What is the Role?

We are looking for Freelance Tech Designer Specializing in Demin to join our team. We are looking for 20-30 hours per week to start with the potential for this to turn into a full time position.

Detailed responsibilities include:

Collaborate with Design for seasonal conceptualization and creation of commercially viable products across several channels and brands
Create Tech Packs, Fit Comments, and Technical Sketches for designated styles starting from initial design pass-off through production in partnership with Design & PD
Create tech packs in Topson Downs PLM system: including fit photos, construction call outs and grade templates
Partner with Shanghai Topson Downs tech team to evaluate garments each round of specs against previously made comments, check measurements, construction and fit intent, ensure size and fit consistency across product categories
Speak to measurements and specs to guide fittings to clear resolution based on T & A calendar
Work with Shanghai tech team and factories on identifying and resolving construction and workmanship issues after each fit round as necessary
Follow-up on Fit/technical/Construction issues from all Cross Functional meetings and help bring them to resolution
You will report to Lisa Meza, our Tech Design Manager

What is required?

3-8 years’ experience in apparel technical design, fitting and spec packages. Categories will include, but not limited to: junior, missy, plus, and men’s
Excellent computer skills including Excel, Adobe Illustrator & Adobe Photoshop
Strong problem solving, solution-based skills and ability to learn quickly
Highly organized and detail oriented self-starter personality
Customer service-based personality
Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal
Thrives in a fast-paced environment
Proactive problem solving skills.
Detail oriented with strong follow through - able to organize and prioritize multiple projects
Self-starter, proactive, ability to prioritize and shift focus with ease and flexibility - you are excited to dive in, build quickly and drive output.
Not afraid to jump in where needed - no task is too big or too small for you, and you are willing to help your team before you are asked.
Desire to be part of a tight-knit team and comfortable working with ambiguity.
Must be able to work in person at our Culver City office 5 days per week.
