Summary

The Textile Designer is responsible for creating and producing original graphic and/or textile print designs that appropriately reflect the assigned brand’s aesthetics within assigned calendar deadlines. The designer has experience effectively creating artwork layouts and pattern repeats.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create original artwork for prints, woven's, and graphics seasonally in support of multiple brands as needed.
  • Ability to translate trends, concepts, and direction for creation of brand specific prints
  • Create original artwork from design direction
  • Advanced skill level using design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Ned Graphics to execute designs, color reduce, put into technical repeat, and manipulate purchased artwork
  • Analyze artwork to determine best print execution and printing techniques
  • Ensure prints are executed correctly for scale and placement as per design specs
  • Manage artwork requests and deadlines to ensure calendar dates are met
  • Ensures that final artwork is correct for production ready standards and mechanicals.
  • Research current trends and concepts in order to create brand specific original artwork
  • Effectively partners with design on all execution and business needs
  • Continually expand upon expert knowledge of current trends, color and technical skill sets
  • Manage paperwork and download of purchased artwork.
  • Maintain and organize our physical and digital libraries and archives as needed.
SKILLS:
  • Advanced proficiency and expertise in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Ned Graphics or related program
  • Strong artistic background including the ability to create conceptual and final art in several different mediums
  • Knowledge of print and textile design.
  • Strong familiarity with current trends, color, and design
  • Self motivated and skilled at handling multiple projects and working with multiple designers
  • Works well under pressure with the ability to prioritize and execute multiple deadlines without sacrificing attention to detail
  • Good interpersonal communication and collaboration with cross functional partners
Requirements
  • BA/BS/BFA in Graphic Design, Textile Design Illustration or related field
  • Experience in design, preferably in the retail or textile industry is a plus
  • 4+ years of applied print/graphic design experience
  • Field related portfolio
